Description

Hydromorphone (commonly sold as Dilaudid) is a highly potent, semi-synthetic opioid analgesic used for treating severe pain, often 2–8 times stronger than morphine. It acts on the central nervous system to reduce moderate-to-severe pain. Due to high addiction liability and risks of severe breathing problems, it is usually reserved for opioid-tolerant patients.
